Akia Uwanda, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, was raised as an only child and left much of her vivid imagination to exploring and appreciating different genres of music, art, and culture, all of which have prepared her to be the entertainer she is today.

Akia is a classically trained, sultry jazz and soul vocalist with a down-to-earth personality that reminds you of the girl next door. Capturing the hearts and minds of many with her warmth and authenticity, Akia has a high-powered vocal range from low alto to high soprano. She has opened up for performers such as Earth, Wind and Fire and Avery Sunshine, and has shared the stage with jazz greats such as Gregory Porter and Kamasi Washington.

Akia has been scouted by various music producers and playwrights and has performed in front of audiences from Carnegie Hall all the way to Parma, Italy. She is a available for private soirees to stage plays. Akia has performed at Super Bowl Live, during Super Bowl Fifty One in Houston, Texas, and at Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan’s exclusive yacht party.
