Music writing and production powerhouse, Akia Uwanda has released her long-awaited debut album, Lift. The multi-melodic compilation is comprised of several music genres, including R&B, blues, funk, soul, and gospel, while remaining true to her beloved jazz.
Lift takes you on an inspirational journey through the light and shadows of Akia's own life, with whimsical and fictional overtones. Lift is an infusion of fresh, sensuous, and provocative original songs, along with familiar jazz standard and classic ballads.
In creative partnership with Akia, musical mastermind Larry M. Wilson provided arrangements and production, with lyrical enhancements and instrumental inflections. He co-created Lift as an exploration into the alluring, multiethnic sounds of Africa and Latin America.
Lift is a vivacious, high-energy creation that will enchant its listeners.
